LOS ANGELES—Manning Selvage & Lee’s Los Angeles has added two executives to its social marketing practice: Michele Nachum is named management supervisor and Shad Balch is named account supervisor.

Nachum will oversee work conducted on behalf of the California State Alliance promoting the state’s First Lady Maria Shriver. The work for the First Lady includes the annual Governor and First Lady’s Conference on Women and Families this November and ongoing awareness for statewide disaster preparedness and community service.

Most recently, Nachum served in the strategic communications department at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, overseeing all global media relations for the parks, including the recent opening of the new Hong Kong Disneyland. Prior to joining Disney, she was the public relations manager for the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.

Balch joins MS&L from Governor Schwarzenegger’s administration, where he served as the director of communications for the California Department of Corporations. He will supervise city, county and state contracts and programs including the California State Lottery.
