Masterfoods Names New Director of European Communications

Masterfoods has appointed Klaske de Jonge as director of corporate communications for Europe and CIS. The newly created position will oversee the internal and external communications for Mars in the region.

BRUSSELS—Masterfoods has appointed Klaske de Jonge as director of corporate communications for Europe and CIS. The newly created position will oversee the internal and external communications for Mars in the region.

De Jonge, who will be based at the Mars/Masterfoods European headquarters in Brussels, joins the company from the Dutch Consumer Association, where she was executive director and a member of the board 1999, and also an executive member of BEUC, the European federation of Consumer organizations, where she has served as president since autumn 2006.

Prior to this, she was manager for marketing and communication business letters at TNT Post, the Dutch post Office.

In her new position at Masterfoods, Klaske and her team will establish a strong communications operation supporting the company’s activities and play a leadership role in establishing a dialogue with media and the public on topics such as health and nutrition, the environment and social responsibility. She will also coordinate the Corporate Communication functions of all major European markets.
