Maytag Consolidates PR at Carmichael Lynch Spong

Carmichael Lynch Spong has been selected as agency of record by Maytag Appliances. The Twin Cities firm will provide strategic counsel and public relations services for the company’s flagship Maytag brand of home appliances.

MINNEAPOLIS, July 23—Carmichael Lynch Spong has been selected as agency of record by Maytag Appliances. The Twin Cities firm will provide strategic counsel and public relations services for the company’s flagship Maytag brand of home appliances. 
 
CLS will be responsible for supporting new and existing Maytag brand products with marketing public relations, media relations, special events and event marketing, as well as trade show support and public relations services for the Maytag repairman, Ol’ Lonely and his Apprentice.
 
The announcement marks a consolidation of Maytag Appliances’ brand public relations under the CLS umbrella. Late last year, CLS was named agency of record for Maytag’s Amana brand. CLS also has been working on the Jenn-Air brand of upscale appliances for three years. 
 
“CLS has proven itself with the Amana and Jenn-Air brands,” says Jill Spiekerman, PR manager for Maytag Appliances. “The agency’s remarkable creativity, combined with its depth of knowledge of the home and shelter industry, made it a clear choice for us.”    
 
Both the Minneapolis and Denver offices of Carmichael Lynch Spong will work on the account, with media relations support from the firm’s New York City office.
