CHICAGO—Robert McEwen, former head of the Midwest region for Burson-Marsteller and general manager of the Chicago office of Fleishman-Hillard, has joined The Dilenschneider Group as principal and managing director of its Chicago operation.
Highlights of McEwen’s career include staffing the crisis communications center for United Airlines on the morning of September 11, 2001; counseling Sara Lee during one of the largest food recalls of the past decade; handling media relations for Kodak during its historic patent litigation with Polaroid; and helping General Motors plan the move of its corporate headquarters into Detroit’s Renaissance Center, triggering a rebirth of the city’s downtown district and riverfront.
According to founder Robert Dilenschneider, “The world has changed and it requires a new level of thinking. Bob’s ability to deliver that, along with the solid professionals we have in Chicago, is exceptional. We’ve been open and highly successful in Chicago since 1991 and are confident that Bob, a proven professional, will take us to a new level.”
