BALTIMORE— Global asset management firm Legg Mason has named Timothy Munoz as senior vice president and head of corporate marketing and communications. Munoz is responsible for supporting the firm’s growth on a global basis, building strategic marketing capabilities and managing its corporate communications to key stakeholders. He is also heading the firm’s corporate philanthropy, sponsorship and internal communications efforts.
Munoz joins Legg Mason from Prophet, a management consultancy, where he was a partner in the financial services practice, specializing in asset management. Before Prophet, Munoz served as vice president of sales and marketing at Comcast and as managing director of consumer markets at Verizon. He began his career in advertising at Young & Rubicam, where he managed multinational clients for the agency in the U.S., Latin America and Europe.
Munoz succeeds Paige Littleton, who is retiring after seventeen years with the firm, though she remains as a consultant to Legg Mason.
