Nasdaq's MacMillan Joins Barclays Capital

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has hired Andy MacMillan as head of corporate communications and global marketing for the Americas, responsible for media relations, advertising and internal communications.

NEW YORK—Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has hired Andy MacMillan as head of corporate communications and global marketing for the Americas. MacMillan will be based in New York, with responsibility for media relations, advertising, internal communications and marketing events for Barclays Capital in the Americas.

MacMillan joins from Nasdaq where he was senior vice president, corporate communications. He was previously director of corporate communications at Credit Suisse First Boston and a consultant with A. T. Kearney. The search was handled by Heyman Associates.

Linda Wynns and David Landgraf will remain in their current roles in corporate communications and global marketing respectively, and will report to MacMillan.

Additionally, Joss Mathieson joins as head of internal communications, based in London. He moves to Barclays Capital from a senior role in group strategy & planning at Barclays Bank and will focus on improving internal distribution channels and using internal communication as a catalyst for cross-selling opportunities.

Both new hires will report to John Anderson, global head of corporate communications and marketing for Barclays Capital. Says Anderson, “The communications and marketing functions at Barclays Capital have a tradition of being very close to their businesses in delivering revenue-generating ideas. These hires will serve to sustain that tradition.”
