NEW YORK—NEHST Studios, a film and television production, financing and distribution company, has signed Raleigh-based public relations and marketing firm French/West/Vaughan and Charlotte-based film, television and music product integration firm Black/Pinner/Barton Branded Entertainment—an affiliate of FWV—to serve as the marketing arm of NEHST Studios and its entertainment projects set for release or are currently in production.

The deal immediately provides NEHST Studios, which was founded by Oscar and Golden Globe winner and film industry veteran Larry Meistrich, producer of cult film favorite Sling Blade and founder of the independent film studio Shooting Gallery, and Ari Friedman, founder of HomeDelivery.Com, a team of advertising, PR and product placement specialists to assist the studio in releasing and marketing its various film projects.

As part of the deal, FWV and BPB Branded will receive a portion of the studio's box office receipts from the release of all NEHST films.

The first film that FWV and BPB Branded are supporting is Running the Sahara, a documentary executive produced and narrated by actor Matt Damon, which is being released concurrently on Showtime and via special theatrical event screenings. FWV will handle advertising, PR and event planning for the local market theatrical screenings while BPB Branded will work with local runners clubs and corporate partners that were involved in early-stage product placement deals in the film to merchandise and leverage their investments in the project.
