Lagrant Communications, an integrated advertising, marketing and public relations firm focused on reaching multicultural audiences, has added four new accounts representing more than half a million dollars in new billings for the agency.

LOS ANGELES—Lagrant Communications, an integrated advertising, marketing and public relations firm focused on reaching multicultural audiences, has added four new accounts representing more than half a million dollars in new billings for the agency.  New clients include the American Cancer Society, City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works, Harley-Davidson, the Los Angeles Times, Salvadorian American Leadership Educational Fund, Talbert Medical Group and Tyco.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Dittus Communications has added six new employees, including senior directors Dana Melecker and Laura Sheehan. Melecker has worked at New York agencies FitzGerald Communications and NYPR. Sheehan was policy director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Other additions include Anne Buresh and Allison Gilmore as directors; Brigid Nealon as senior account executive; and Julia Payne as vice president.

AUSTIN, MN—Hormel Foods Corporation has promoted Julie Craven, currently director of corporate communications, to vice president of the company’s corporate communications. Craven will continue to report to James Cavanaugh, senior vice president and general counsel and will oversee all stakeholder communications, including employee communications, media relations, crisis communications, media services, publications and SPAM Museum and SPAM Shop operations, as well as serving as administrator of the company’s scholarship programs, matching gift program and Hormel Foods Charitable Trust.

MINNEAPOLIS—Olson + Company, a Twin Cities marketing agency, has hired Lenore Moritz Rabatin to lead its public relations practice. As public relations director, Moritz Rabatin will oversee the strategic development and creative implementation of client PR programs and drive business development efforts. Prior to joining Olson + Company, Moritz Rabatin was a senior vice president at Dan Klores Communications in New York.

CLEVELAND—Edward Howard & Co. has added 17 clients during the first half of 2005 for a range of challenging assignments. The firm is providing crisis and corporate communications, consumer marketing, investor relations, media relations, and graphic design services to help clients protect their reputations, build awareness, drive sales and generate publicity. Hexion Chemical (formerly Borden Chemical Company) has retained EH to provide corporate communications, investor relations and media relations. Other additions include Invisible Fence, NewPage Corp, The Cleveland Foundation, Titan Energy, BioEnterprise, Imalux, Revol, Camco Financial, WinWholesale, Ohio Supercomputer Center, Dayton Metro Library, Lifeline of Ohio, Blackhawk Plastics, Dorsky Hodgson + Partners, Brickman & Sons Funeral Home, and Culture Works.

LOS ANGELES—Veteran Los Angeles political advisor Liz Saldivar has joined Cerrell Associates as public affairs manager. Prior to joining Cerrell, Saldivar was a principal at Public Strategies. Previously she was legislative deputy to Los Angeles city councilmember Ed Reyes.
