Lucas van Praag, currently director of corporate affairs for Goldman Sachs in Europe and Asia, has been promoted to global head of corporate communications.

NEW YORK—Lucas van Praag, currently director of corporate affairs for Goldman Sachs in Europe and Asia, has been promoted to global head of corporate communications. He will relocate from London to New York, where he will have responsibility for worldwide media relations, branding and advertising and will lead a team of communications professionals located in New York, London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Van Praag takes over from John Rogers, who has been named chief of staff for the firm, a role that involves acting as strategic adviser to the management committee. Van Praag joined the investment bank from Brunswick, the U.K.-based financial public relations consultancy.
 
CHICAGO—Up and coming independent agency Dome Communications continues to lure talent from some of the biggest players in the Chicago market, adding three account supervisors: Erica Barto, previously at Golin/Harris; Ellen Petasnick, formerly of Manning Selvage & Lee; and Rachel Wilkins, from Edelman Public Relations Worldwide. Barto and Wilkins will focus on the consumer products and services and food and beverage practices. Petasnick will support the corporate and financial and technology practices.
 
SAN JOSE—Sterling Communications has added three companies to its roster of high-tech clients.  Sterling has been selected to provide strategic public relations services to Azanda Network Devices, CoSine Communications and NetContinuum.
 
NEW YORK—Paula Schwartz, most recently a partner at the FRB investor relations unit of Weber Shandwick Worldwide, has joined Rx Communications Group, a financial communications firm specializing in the life science and healthcare industries, as vice president. Schwartz has also held positions at ECOM Consultants and KCSA Worldwide.
 
EAST RUTHERFORD—The MWW Group has added privately held advertising agency The Sawtooth Group to its client roster. MWW will handle strategic media relations for Sawtooth.
 
PHILADELPHIA—Comcast Cable Communications has named Jenni Moyer senior director of public relations. Moyer joined Comcast in 2000. In her new role she will have continued responsibility for developing and implementing communications initiatives as well as serving as a liaison with PR representatives throughout the company’s 26-state service area.
 
LOUISVILLE, CO—Teton Petroleum, an oil and gas exploration and production company operating in Russia, has retained Carl Thompson Associates to implement a national investor relations and media relations program.
