LONDON—Next Fifteen has merged its August One and Text 100 public relations operations. August One, headquartered in the U.K., has evolved over the past few years into an integrated corporate and consumer communications firm, and will now become a unit of Text 100, providing expertise in area’s beyond that agency’s core technology business.

August One will offer corporate and consumer public relations support to existing Text 100 technology clients in the U.K. and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and will continue to compete for and serve its own clients, which include food and drink, lifestyle, utilities, technology, and professional service companies as well as public sector organizations.

About 14 consultants from August One, which had fee income of £2.3 million last year, will make the move to Text 100, where they will work closely with about six employees from  other Text 100 European offices in Spain, Germany and the Nordic region.

According to Andrew McGregor, Text 100’s regional director for EMEA, “For some time, Text 100 and August One have witnessed a growing number of clients and prospects requiring the combined skill sets of both agencies. We saw a natural opportunity to combine forces and establish a joint offering that further strengthens our global proposition. This move brings in some terrific talent, expertise and clients that will strengthen the core Text 100 proposition.”

Text 100 has already expanded its portfolio of services, most notably with the creation of a digital lifestyle group focused on consumer technologies.

Sarah Howe, managing director at August One, will manage the newly formed corporate communications and consumer unit within Text 100 UK and will take on a global role to expand those service offerings.

“Increasingly, technology clients are looking for corporate and consumer expertise as well as technology public relations,” says Howe. “They needed our skills and we needed their scale.” She says that in addition to serving its current clients—including Total, PriceRunner.co.uk, More Th>n Business and Whirlpool—August One will continue to pitch business on its own. “We will continue to pick up clients outside the technology space because it’s our corporate and consumer work for those clients that will make us credible to technology companies looking for that kind of support.”

In addition, Sarah MacKenzie, August One director, will become regional creative director for Text 100 in EMEA, consulting across a broad portfolio of clients and new business prospects.
