Nick Ashooh Joins APCO In Senior Corporate Comms Role

Nick Ashooh, who has led communications at five Fortune 500 companies, is joining APCO as senior director, corporate and executive communication.

WASHINGTON, DC—Nick Ashooh, who has led communications at five Fortune 500 companies during a 37-year career, is joining APCO Worldwide as senior director, corporate and executive communication. Ashooh will be based in APCO's Washington, DC, office but will work with teams across the entire company.

Most recently, Ashooh served as vice president of corporate affairs for Alcoa, a global metals and mining giant, where he was responsible for media relations, community relations, internal communications, marketing communications and corporate reputation. He also oversaw the Alcoa Foundation, one of the largest corporate foundations in the United States.

Prior to his role at Alcoa, Ashooh was senior vice president of corporate communications at American International Group, where he led all internal and external communications, including crisis communication strategies during the global financial crisis. He also served as senior vice president for corporate communications at American Electric Power and in senior communications positions at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and Paramount Communications.
