Nokia Drops Text 100 and Splits India PR Between Two New Agencies

Nokia has ended its lengthy relationship with Text 100 in India, and has instead chosen to divide the business between Fleishman-Hillard and Six Degrees.

Nokia has ended its lengthy relationship with Text 100 in  India, and has instead chosen to divide the business between Fleishman-Hillard and Six Degrees.

Nokia India director of corporate comms Poonam Kaul confirmed that the decision was made after a multi-agency review. Text 100's New Delhi office had handled the Nokia India PR account for the past five years.

Six Degrees has been handed Nokia India’s corporate PR brief, after previously handling issues and policy comms for the mobile giant. Fleishman-Hillard, meanwhile, has been tasked with PR for Nokia’s devices and mobile solutions units.

Kaul said that Six Degrees would be charged with building Nokia’s corporate image in India, where the company is the long-standing leader in the mobile market. “We’ve been here 15 years and we’ve really shaped the mobility revolution in the country,” she said. “How do we build on that?”

She added that Fleishman-Hillard will focus on developing a “cool, edgy” image for Nokia, in order to better tell the company’s story around its mobile solutions and devices.

It is understood, meanwhile, that Text 100 has won  Samsung India’s PR account. Representatives from the agency declined to comment, while the company did not respond to request for comment.
