Omnicom Reports Strong Second Quarter

Omnicom Group—parent to international public relations firms Fleishman-Hillard, Ketchum, Porter Novelli and Brodeur Pleon—saw net income increase by 13.4 percent for the second quarter of 2007, up to $276.7 million from $244.1 million.

NEW YORK—Omnicom Group—parent to international public relations firms Fleishman-Hillard, Ketchum, Porter Novelli and Brodeur Pleon—saw net income increase by 13.4 percent for the second quarter of 2007, up to $276.7 million from $244.1 million in the second quarter of 2006. There was healthy growth in the public sector too, with revenues up 13 percent—slightly ahead of the growth rate for the company’s advertising business.

Worldwide revenue increased 10.7 percent to $3.1 billion from $2.8 billion in the second quarter of 2006. Domestic revenue increased 8.1 percent to $1.7 billion from $1.5 billion. And international revenue was even stronger, up by 13.9 percent to $1.5 billion compared to $1.3 billion in the second quarter of 2006.

Net income for the six months ended June 30, increased 12.2 percent to $459.7 million from $409.7 million in the same period last year. Worldwide revenue for the six month period increased 10.8 percent to $6 billion from $5.4 billion.
