WALTHAM, MA—One Laptop per Child, a non-profit association developing a low-cost laptop for children in developing countries, has selected W2 Group for media relations and social media marketing support. W2’s Racepoint Group is working to establish global awareness of OLPC’s education mission and to communicate the technology innovation behind the XO children’s laptop. W2’s Digital Influence Group, a leader in social media marketing, is developing an interactive campaign to engage influencers.

Walter Bender, president  of software and content and chief operating officer of One Laptop per Child, says”  “While we focus our energies on the delivery of the laptop to school-age children and their teachers in developing nations, we need a savvy marketing partner to help us get the word out about why this initiative is so important and what the benefits are to the children, to their countries, and to the world at large.”
