NEW YORK—Hill & Knowlton USA has named Kelli Parsons as general manager of its Washington, D.C. office. Parsons, currently director of the firm’s D.C. corporate practice, will take over from Gene Reineke, who will return to head the firm’s Chicago office, and will report to Paul Taaffe, chairman and CEO while also serving on the firm’s U.S. executive committee.
Since 2002, Parsons has served as D.C. director of the corporate practice, counseling clients in various areas of corporate communications, including corporate reputation, corporate governance communications, corporate social responsibility, issues management, crisis communications, executive visibility, and labor relations communications. Her clients have included Compaq, Continental Airlines, Exxon, HP, Lockheed Martin, Motorola, PWC, and Tyco.
Reineke will return to the Chicago market, taking responsibility for the firm’s Chicago office and continuing to serve COO for the U.S. company and to oversee Hill & Knowlton’s Houston office. The Chicago office’s current general manager, Steve Singerman, will now focus primarily on his leadership of the U.S. marketing communications practice and business development efforts.

Parsons joined Hill & Knowlton in 1998 in the Houston office where she led teams consulting Fortune 50 clients and managed the Houston technology and media relations practices. Prior to that, she was an award-winning television news reporter and producer focusing on business and political coverage for various network affiliates in Houston, Nashville, and Louisville, Ky.
