NEWTOWN SQUARE—SAP America has named Claudia Peters as vice president of communications for the public sector in North America. In this new position, Peters will be responsible for helping increase the company’s overall visibility in the public sector.
Reporting to Anne McCarthy, senior vice president of SAP global communications, Peters will work closely with Bill McDermott, CEO and president of SAP America, and Steve Peck, president of SAP Public Services, as well as other executives in SAP Public Services Sales and SAP Government Relations to help the company showcase its solutions and build momentum in the public sector.
Peters has 17 years of communications and public affairs experience in corporate, agency and nonprofit organizations. She was recently director of corporate communications at The Walt Disney Company, where she served as a corporate spokesperson handling high profile and crisis issues on behalf of key executives and for the corporate entity to media worldwide.
Peters was previously president and CEO of www.myownbuiness.org, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit providing educational resources to small businesses around the globe via the Internet and through partnerships with the World Bank and the Small Business Administration. Earlier, she worked at Channel One Network and Powell Tate.
