GENEVA—The Pleon C-Matrix Group, headquartered in Zurich, is opening a new office in Geneva. Jean-François Cancel, previously managing director of Pleon in Paris, has been appointed to head up the new operation and brings experience in advising major international customers and comprehensive knowledge of the Pleon network.

The announcement follows a decision by Luc Giacobino and Laurent Paoliello, who previously handled Pleon operations in the city, to run their business independently.

Cancel’s responsibilities will include providing advice in strategic and corporate communications, traditional media activities, crisis communications, internal and change communications, public affairs and corporate publishing. He is also responsible crisis communications within the Pleon network.

Founded in 1992, Zurich-based Pleon C-Matrix Group has 20 employees and develops communications and marketing strategies for a number of national and international clients.

“With the opening of our office in Geneva, we are bringing our proven expertise to the city and developing our European orientation,” says Alfred Koecher, CEO of Pleon C-Matrix. “Given the importance and attractiveness that Geneva is acquiring for a growing number of international organisations and companies, it is a natural step for us to strengthen our commitment to the city.”
