Porter Novelli is working with Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Wicked on an campaign to initiate an environmental movement on Broadway that rallies all members of the community to take steps to evaluate energy consumption.

NEW YORK—Porter Novelli is working with Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Wicked on an campaign to initiate an environmental movement on Broadway that rallies all members of the community—including actors, theater owners, stagehands, unions, vendors and musicians—to take steps to evaluate energy consumption and reduce the industry’s carbon footprint.

 

The agency counseled Wicked on the hosting of a Town Hall event to initiate dialogue within the industry, and leveraged its relationships within the Natural Resources Defense Council—a leading environmental action group—to secure Allen Hershkowitz, an NRDC scientist known for his role in “greening” the Grammys and Major League Baseball, as a guest speaker.  The event attracted around 200 representatives from all facets of the theater industry, and sparked activism and discussion among all attendees.
