WASHINGTON, D.C.—Svoboda Collins, a Chicago-based private equity firm, is making a major investment in public affairs and strategic communications consultancy Glover Park Group, in a move designed to allow the firm to accelerate its growth and range of services.

Glover Park was founded in 2001 by a veteran team that included former Clinton administration spokesman Joe Lockhart, Gore campaign veteran and former BSMG Worldwide public affairs chief Carter Eskew, and Gore adviser Michael Feldman, and offers a range of services that includes advocacy and image advertising, public affairs services, media relations, issues and crisis management, legislative affairs, research and corporate communications.

“Driven by its talented, experienced and energetic team, GPG has earned its reputation as one of the leading strategic communications firms in the country,” says John Svoboda, senior managing director at Svoboda Collins. “This investment reflects Svoboda Collins’ continuing focus on investing in and helping to build the best business services companies.”

According to GPG chief operation officer Chip Smith, the new investment will allow the firm to accelerate its growth and pursue new opportunities, including new geographies and practice areas.

AdMedia Partners, the New York investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions advisory services to marketing services and media services businesses, advised The Glover Park Group on the transaction.
