PARIS—Publicis Consultants, the French corporate communications consultancy and part of the Publicis Groupe, has merged with sister firm Mediasystem Group, a leader in human resources communications. Together, the two companies have 500 employees, making the combined entity the largest corporate communications consultancy in the French market.
Founded in 1977, Mediasystemgroup is the human resources communications agency of Publicis Groupe, providing clients with both internal and external communications involving employee and human resources matters.
According to Publicis Consultants Worldwide president Eric Giuily, corporate and institutional communications needs “have undergone a profound transformation over the past few years… organizations must communicate coherent and effective messages simultaneously to extremely different target audiences.”
As of January 1 2006, Publicis Consultants France will restructure its operations under five distinct brands: Publicis Consultants, the global corporate communications brand, which will offer institutional communications, public affairs, financial, internal communications, reputation audits and positioning, press relations and public relations, advertising and human resources; Pietri, specialized in fashion, luxury and high tech press relations and public relations; Verbe, which will edit and produce company newsletters and consumer magazine; Carré Noir, for corporate identity, strategic design and on-line publishing; and Corporate Factory, for business-to-business communication.
An executive committee for the French operations will be chaired by Giuily and Serge Perez, currently president of Mediasystem will be composed of the managers and directors of the various activities.
Says Giuily, “Since I joined Publicis Consultants as CEO, my main priority has been to develop our offering in communications for companies and public institutions that are undergoing change. The merger with Mediasystem will bring a new dimension to our offer in this sector. Our objective is to better meet our clients’ expectations and needs, in constant evolution towards more global communication”.
Perez adds: “Mediasystem was the result of anticipating trends. Since it was created, the agency has differentiated itself through its vision of the evolution of society and the changing relationships between people and companies. From there arose the main innovations that we managed to bring to the HR communications market, in internal communications as well as in external communications.
“We feel today the need to go beyond that. The human stakes are strategic and it is no longer possible to address them independently of the other organizational priorities. It is important to meet companies’ needs in this strategic area: they are expecting a multi-dimensional communications approach to help them address the social challenges they are facing today.”
