NEW YORK—John Quick has been appointed director of the healthcare and pharmaceutical practice at Hill & Knowlton New York. He will report to Marilyn Castaldi, general manager of the New York office, and will be a member of the New York management committee.
Quick leaves his position as general manager of Euro RSCG Life NRP in New York, where he led the healthcare marketing communications group, and had responsibility for $7 million in healthcare client billings. Prior to that, he spent nearly nine years at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as one of the senior vice presidents in that agency’s award-winning healthcare practice.
According to Castaldi, “John strikes just the right balance for us—sufficient breadth in issues-laden pharmaceutical marketing campaigns, coupled with proven team leadership and a business drive that will significantly expand our competitive edge.”
Quick will work closely with Paul McDade, worldwide director of Hill & Knowlton’s health and pharmaceutical practice, who says the sector has been experiencing a steady growth in recent years.
Quick’s prior agency stints were on the healthcare teams at Porter Novelli and Ruder Finn. Major clients over the years included Novartis, Wyeth, Parke Davis, Marion Merrell Dow, GlaxoSmithKline, ICI and Ethicon Products, a Johnson & Johnson company. Quick also worked for the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.
