Qwest Gives Sankey Additional Communications Responsibility

Qwest Communications International has named Laura Sankey has been named executive vice president of marketing and communications. In her new role, Sankey will have responsibility for the company’s marketing communications, product marketing, advertising and corporate communications.

DENVER—Qwest Communications International has named Laura Sankey has been named executive vice president of marketing and communications. In her new role, Sankey will have responsibility for the company’s marketing communications, product marketing, advertising and corporate communications. In addition, she will oversee brand management, market research, sponsorships, database management and Hispanic marketing.

Prior to joining Qwest in February 2006 as vice president of marketing communications and advertising, Sankey served as vice president of marketing for Coors Brewing Company, where she was responsible for the company’s portfolio brands, channel marketing, sponsorships and mega promotions, and marketing operations.

Sankey’s promotion came a week after the news that Bob Charlton, who joined last year as vice president of corporate communications, is leaving the company.
