DALLAS--RadioShack has selected Weber Shandwick as its public relations agency of record, following a comprehensive review process.

The decision comes after the Holmes Report revealed that RadioShack had parted ways with 10-year incumbent Cohn & Wolfe earlier this year.

Weber Shandwick, along with IPG sister agencies Current Lifestyle Marketing and AXIS, is developing an array of public relations, corporate social responsibility and digital communications initiatives in the US and abroad. The business is estimated at upwards of $500K.

Weber Shandwick will aim to create a communications platform that bolsters RadioShack's position as a leading national retailer of mobile technology products and services.

"Weber Shandwick has a talented team with deep bench strength for developing and executing our framework for PR at RadioShack. This partnership will allow us to deliver more efficient, more consistent, more sophisticated support for marketing and merchandising," said RadioShack VP Molly Salky.
