MORRIS TOWNSHIP—Honeywell has appointed Richard Silverman as its new director of corporate media relations. Silverman will report to Tom Buckmaster, vice president of corporate communications and will lead Honeywell corporate media relations and crisis communications activities, and will be responsible for managing Honeywell’s company-wide media relations function.

Prior to joining Honeywell, Silverman spent eight years at Merrill Lynch where he served in a number of leadership roles, including first vice president and director, global media relations. Previously, Silverman spent more than a decade as a journalist and editor with Dow Jones News Services and Bloomberg.

“Rich brings a tremendous breadth and depth of experience to Honeywell both as a media relations leader and as a journalist,” says Buckmaster. “He will be a tremendous advocate for the company and will be instrumental in communicating the Honeywell story.”

Silverman replaces Tom Crane, who was recently named senior vice president of corporate communications at Skanska.
