NEW YORK, May 18—Hill & Knowlton has hired Edward Manetta, St. John’s University's associate vice president and director of athletics, as head of the agency’s sports marketing group in the eastern region. He will partner with John Eckel, national head of the practice, to offer a full range of integrated sports marketing services including sports publicity; on-site media operations; spokesperson retention and training; promotions; event management and crisis management.

Before St. John’s, Manetta was head of the athletic department at DePaul University and head of the sports and marketing division at Edelman Public Relations.
