NEW YORK—Two months after being named to lead the public relations operations of Euro RSCG Worldwide, John Margaritis has named his former Ogilvy Public Relations colleague Laura Sturtz as executive vice president and chief creative officer, strengthening a New York management team seriously depleted in the wake of leadership turmoil at the firm.
Sturtz will report to Margaritis and will lead the agency’s creative process for existing clients and business development, spearhead the agency’s marketing efforts and design and oversee a formal professional development program for staff.
Sturtz, who most recently served as chief operating officer of Rowland Communications Worldwide in New York, worked with Margaritis as senior managing director of the strategic marketing practice at Ogilvy from 1989 to 1996. In addition, she has worked at Hill Holliday Connors Cosmopulos, Hill & Knowlton, Burson-Marsteller and Young & Rubicam.
“Laura is a passionate professional, dedicated to delivering a compelling product to clients, which explains her proven track record in forging long-term client relationships and growing outstanding talent from the ground up,” said Margaritis. “Along with others on our management team, Laura and I share a vision of Magnet as a preferred destination for clients who are looking for fresh, considered communications that deliver a measurable difference.”
