NEW YORK—Patrice Tanaka & Company continued its hot new business streak last week, picking up a six-figure contract to launch a line of consumer home appliances from AeroGrow International.

The privately held Colorado company, founded in 2002 by entrepreneur Michael Bissonnette, has enlisted the expertise of engineers, designers and plant ecologists to develop the world’s first indoor kitchen garden appliance, the AeroGrow Kitchen Garden—applying high yield aeroponic technology to create an organic-based herb and vegetable garden for the kitchen.

The countertop garden appliance will make its debut in early 2006.

Says Bissonnette,  “We chose PT&Co. because of its creative and strategic approach to branding, and their proven track record in launching new home products and brands to the U.S. market.”

PT&Co. plans a fully integrated marketing communications program to launch the AeroGrow Kitchen Garden, including traditional public relations; “product seeding” among key influencers; retail, and non-profit strategic partnerships and consumer promotions aimed at the culinary community.

The account is the latest in a series of wins that includes women’s retailer Chadwick’s; beauty and wellness company HoMedics; brand marketing for the Rioja wine region of Spain; andcause-related marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA.
