NEW YORK—Text 100 Public Relations has named Scott Friedman as regional director, North America. Friedman, based in Text 100’s New York City office, has been promoted from senior vice president and will now take on leadership of all of the company’s North American operations. In that role, he replaces Tom Reno, who joined from Hill & Knowlton last year and who left recently to become director of the New York corporate practice of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
Friedman has been with Text 100 since January 2003 and has extensive expertise in global coordination, client consultancy, people leadership and business management. He has been the office lead for Text 100 New York the last year, and previously served as global client advocate for IBM, the firm’s largest account, driving communications across account teams in North America, Asia and Europe.
Prior to his time at Text 100, Friedman was technology practice director at Manning Selvage & Lee in New York. Before moving into public relations, Friedman was an editor with CMP Publications and a reporter and editors for both Open Systems Today and InformationWeek.
