LONDON—Lee Tomkins, formerly managing director of Ruder Finn U.K. and executive vice president of global healthcare at Weber Shandwick, will join Porter Novelli’s U.K. operation in May as head of its healthcare unit.

Tomkins will replace Pippa Evans who has resigned from Porter Novelli after more than eight years to take a career break and spend more time with her family. Tomkins is currently a consultant to AstraZeneca on global public relations and issues management. Her experience spans oncology, sexual and mental health, obesity, food and nutrition and diabetes, among other areas.

The appointment follows a number of other new senior hires in the U.K. healthcare team. Rebecca Hunt, former public relations manager for Roche, joins as a director, and Amanda Moulson, from Porter Novelli’s Atlanta healthcare team, joined the U.K. operation earlier this year as associate director.
