MIAMI—Burger King Corporation has named Steven DeSutter as senior vice president, corporate communications. DeSutterwill be a member of the executive leadership team and will report directly to Greg Brenneman, chief executive officer. He will be responsible for all corporate communication functions domestically and internationally, including external and media communications, internal communications and community relations.
Prior to joining Burger King Corporation, DeSutter was senior vice president of TurnWorks, a private equity and advisory firm that specializes in corporate turnarounds. He joined TurnWorks in 2001 and executed a number of significant projects for the firm. In June 2002, for example, he joined the senior team at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting as senior vice president, corporate communications, where he worked alongside Brenneman through a restructuring.
“Steve’s deep understanding and experience with internal and external communications and his ability to work together with employees, franchisees and the media make him the ideal choice to lead our worldwide communications team,” said Brenneman.
Prior to joining TurnWorks, DeSutter was senior vice president, sales and marketing of Powerway Inc., an Indianapolis -based provider of Internet and enterprise software solutions. Earlier, he was president of ABS-QE and group vice president of ABS Group, a global consulting and auditing firm and spent 18 years with BP in general management, corporate communications, marketing, product quality and change management postions..
