NEW YORK—Vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson has hired Ketchum as its U.S. public relations agency of record. Ketchum will work closely with Dyson to develop initiatives to educate people on what makes Dyson’s technology different from other vacuum cleaners.

Following its 2002 U.S. debut, Dyson has gained close to 25 percent by value of the U.S. upright vacuum cleaner market. Housed within the Dyson Research and Development Centre in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, U.K., Dyson has almost 1,000 patents and patent applications for over 150 different innovations. Its products are available in 38 countries around the world.

“Ketchum, shares our passion for creativity and innovation,” says Caroline Errington, marketing communications manager. “We are looking forward to working together.”

Ketchum New York’s brand marketing practice will manage the account with support from the agency’s Communications and media strategy group.
