SEATTLE—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has hired Kay Hart as senior vice president and general manager of the agency’s U.S. Central region. Hart will manage the agency’s offices in Dallas and Austin, Tex., which provide strategic communications direction for clients including Texas Instruments and Advanced Micro Devices. She will be based in Dallas, but will work closely with Sarah Russ, general manager in Austin.

Previously, Hart was senior vice president of corporate communications for DHL Americas. Before that, she worked at HP and Compaq as vice president of corporate communications and previously managed the West Coast technology practice for Burson-Marsteller. She has also served in several senior strategic roles at Informix Software, Sybase and Sun Microsystems.

Her appointment comes a month after the departure of John Taylor, former general manager of the Austin and Dallas offices, for an in-house position with AMD.
