Waggener Edstrom Hires Farren for Public Affairs Team

Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has hired Joe Farren as vice president of its global public affairs practice in Washington, D.C. Farren will be working on the agency’s wireless and broadband client business.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has hired Joe Farren as vice president of its global public affairs practice in Washington, D.C. Farren will be working on the agency’s wireless and broadband client business.

 

Farren joins WE from CTIA, the wireless industry association, where he was the assistant vice president of public affairs and served as the national spokesperson for the wireless industry. In this role he was responsible for shaping the industry’s public messages on numerous consumer issues and policy proposals pending before the U.S. Congress, the Federal Communications Commission and state legislatures across the country.

 

Before CTIA, Farren served as a senior staff member in the New Jersey Senate, advising Senate leaders on a host of policy and communications matters, and was a government affairs consultant representing corporations, municipalities, public utilities and nonprofit associations before the legislature and various departments of New Jersey’s state government.
