Webster to Lead Communications at Centex

David Webster has been named vice president of corporate communications at Centex Corporation, one of the nation’s largest home builders. Webster will report to Robert Stewart, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development.

NEW YORK—David Webster has been named vice president of corporate communications at Centex Corporation, one of the nation’s largest home builders. Webster will report to Robert Stewart, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development and will plan, direct and implement strategies to communicate Centex messages to key constituencies. 

Working collaboratively with senior management, he will oversee all communications with industry, mainstream and financial press, employees, prospective employees, customers and communities in which Centex operates.  He will also manage crisis communications and corporate philanthropy initiatives and will serve as top communications counsel to the company’s CEO and senior management.

Prior to joining Centex, Webster served most recently as senior vice president of corporate communications for Regions Financial in Birmingham, Ala.  He was previously head of communications for AmSouth Bank, which merged with Regions and held senior communications positions with JPMorgan Chase, Bank One, First USA, and Pennzoil Co.
