WASHINGTON, D.C.—Widmeyer Communications has appointed Margaret Suzor Dunning to chief strategy officer, dedicated to client strategy development and ensuring integration of agency services. She will work across the firm, and with every client team, focusing on high level media strategy, crisis communications and long term client positioning.
Based in the firm’s D.C. office, Dunning has played lead roles on behalf of Pearson Education, Fannie Mae, the College Board, Texas Instruments, Lumina Foundation for Education, First Marblehead and the Association of American Publishers.
Prior to joining Widmeyer, Dunning was vice president and director of communications for Public Agenda, a New York-based nonpartisan, non-profit public opinion research and citizen education organization. Dunning has also worked for The Advertising Council on campaigns ranging from drunk driving awareness and Head Start to forest fire prevention. During the Reagan Administration, Dunning worked in the Office of Management and Budget.
