Widmeyer Names Segal to New York Education Practice

Widmeyer Communications has appointed Maris Segal as a senior vice president in the firm’s New York office. Segal brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, collaborative partnerships and public affairs to her new role.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Widmeyer Communications has appointed Maris Segal as a senior vice president in the firm’s New York office. Segal brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, collaborative partnerships and public affairs to her leadership role overseeing the New York arm of Widmeyer’s award-winning PreK-12 education practice.

 

Maris comes to Widmeyer as a successful business owner of a boutique marketing, public affairs and event management agency. She and her husband co-founded Prosody Creative Services, where as CEO she assisted in the launch of Obama’s Presidential Campaign, helped guide the brand and strategic communications for the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School, was hired by the Archdiocese of NY to provide media direction for Pope Benedict XVI’s visit and developed plans honoring the founding of New York for the Henry Hudson 400 Foundation.

 

Previously, as an independent consultant and an agency vice president at Karlitz & Company, Segal worked with corporations such as American Express, Kraft, IBM and Cablevision.
