BOSTON, October 25—Six new firms have been admitted to the Americas region of the Worldcom Public Relations Group, an international network of independent public relations firms. The new members are: Communications MECA of Montréal; Cormier Communications of Vancouver; Ruane Communications of Roswell, Ga.; Solem & Associates of San Francisco; Strategic America of Des Moines; and Tech Image of Arlington Heights, Ill.

The group, meeting in Boston last week, also elected new officers—Cathy Dunkin of St. Louis agency The Standing Partnership took over as chairperson—created a new financial services specialty subgroup, and made progress on the implementation of uniform management standards for member firms. Thirty-three member firms around the world have completed the group’s Quality Management Assessment process to become certified.
