SAN FRANCISCO –  Landis Communications has made several senior hires to bolster its marketing expertise and overall offerings following a series of new wins, including Walmart.

Landis is a $1.2 million boutique that earlier this year was hired to handle Walmart’s community engagement, store events and reputation management for its stores from Bakersfield, California through to the state’s Oregon border, which includes the San Francisco - Bay Area. Other recent wins include City CarShare, the California Society of Anesthesiologists and an expanded relationship with the California Bank & Trust.  

New hires include, Sean Dowdall, former CMO at Rabobank, in the newly-created roles of GM and CMO to oversee expanded marketing and digital practices and to supervise financial management of the agency. He reports to founder David Landis.

David Cumpston, formerly of Allison + Partners, takes the newly-created role of director of client services, managing accounts and new business efforts. He reports into Landis.

Eric Steckel, formerly of digital media shop  Bars + Tone, is now Landis’ digital media strategist focused on content marketing, advertising, marketing and PR. Under Steckel, the firm plans to introduce a slew of new services, including: video production, digital media and application development to include creative development and idea generation; full service video, 2D and 3D motion graphics and animation; digital media and application development; social media strategy consultation; video seeding and promotion and online media buys. He reports into Dowdall.

Earlier this year, founder David Landis was elected president of the Public Relations Global Network and is spearheading a digital collaboration with affiliate agencies to be announced this fall.
