NEW YORK—The Advertising Council, which produces and distributes public service announcements on behalf of the entire advertising industry, has selected Ketchum to promote its upcoming energy efficiency campaign, which has been developed to raise awareness about the benefits of energy efficiency nationwide.
“Ketchum presented creative ideas and fresh thinking, backed up by solid energy experience and years of proven campaigns targeting the audience we need to reach, making them a great choice for this program,” said Peggy Conlon, president and CEO of the Advertising Council. “Although the first round of the PSA campaign will focus on children between the ages of 8 to 13, Ketchum will be charged with developing a public relations campaign aimed at parents and caregivers, who can help their children to become more energy efficient.”
The account will be led by Mike Breslin, vice president and group manager, and staffed out of the firm’s Dallas office.
CHICAGO—Horizon Organic Holding Corporation, which markets a leading brand of certified organic foods, has selected Ketchum as public relations agency to continue building the Horizon Organic brand. The assignment encompasses ongoing public and media relations activities for 2004.
“With Ketchum as a partner, we intend to increase awareness of our new-and-existing products and educate our consumers about the correlation between overall health and organic foods,” says Chuck Marcy, president and chief executive officer of Horizon Organic, based in Boulder, Colo.
Shareholders of Dean Foods Company and Horizon Organic have approved the acquisition of Horizon Organic by Dean Foods, a transaction that received final clearance in January 2004.
