CHICAGO—CKPR has been awarded a grant to assist the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities with a public awareness campaign.
CKPR will manage media relations, an annual report, brochures and the Internet in a campaign that will focus on informing Illinois residents about issues affecting persons with disabilities and the Council’s activities.
“CKPR offers the strategic thinking and social marketing expertise needed to launch a successful public awareness campaign,” said Dr. Sheila Romano, executive director of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities. “But the deciding factor was the lead team members’ personal experiences with family members with developmental disabilities. This experience lends an innate compassion and commitment to the Council’s goals and ensures that this campaign will be a shared mission between our two organizations.”
CKPR and parent company Cramer-Krasselt have performed pro bono marketing communications work for the Special Olympics. The firms have also performed advertising and public relations work for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
