CNN's Hopkins Joins Citigroup in Customer Comms Role

The Citigroup Private Bank announced has hired CNN’s Jan Hopkins as managing director and head of client communications.

NEW YORK—The Citigroup Private Bank announced has hired CNN’s Jan Hopkins as managing director and head of client communications.

Hopkins has been with CNN since 1984. She has been host of CNNfn’s Street Sweep as well as the substitute anchor for CNN’s Lou Dobb’s Tonight and Moneyline with Lou Dobbs.

According to said Peter Scaturro, CEO of The Citigroup Private Bank, “Jan is joining the The Citigroup Private Bank in a unique position, geared to provide an unprecedented level of communication to our clients—which include many of the wealthiest families in the world. And client communication is one of the most important elements of the Private Bank’s success.

“The Private Bank has recently revamped its client investment platform and increased its global offerings. We will be looking to Jan to communicate these new sophisticated investment views and offerings to our clients. Through video programs and invitation-only programs, our clients will benefit from a higher level of communication regarding the markets and our products.”

The Private Bank communicates with its clients regularly through print and electronic media. The Firm has been doing an increasing number of live, interactive video feeds and streaming video on subjects ranging from the global economic outlook to asset allocation changes. Hopkins will serve as the anchor of these programs and will conduct interviews with Citigroup product specialists, private bankers, outside investment professionals and Citigroup senior management.
