SHENZHEN—Huawei Technologies, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications networks for operators around the world, has appointed Fleishman-Hillard and Manning Selvage & Lee as agencies of record following a competitive selection process.
Fleishman-Hillard, the incumbent global agency, will continue to lead the global account from its Hong Kong office and will manage ongoing collaboration with Fleishman-Hillard and MS&L agencies and affiliates in 11 countries across five continents as well as Huawei’s corporate headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The two agencies will drive corporate brand exposure with a view to winning acceptance from international operators.
“Huawei aims to build a strong global brand. Our global agency partners will play an important role in helping us manage strategy and messaging in order to position our brand consistently worldwide,” says Ross Gan, head of corporate communications. “In 2006, 65 percent of Huawei’s contract sales were generated outside of China, so we have created the best integrated PR network to serve as one strategic communications partner throughout the world.”
The effort will be led by Nancy Payne, senior vice president and general manager of Fleishman-Hillard Hong Kong and Glenn Osaki, MS&L’s regional head for Asia Pacific.
