PORTLAND, OR—McClenahan Bruer Communications, a full-service agency for deep-technology companies, has added public relations to the range of services it provides to global advertising client ON Semiconductor, a leading supplier of high performance energy-efficient silicon solutions worldwide.

The appointment follows on the heels of both organic growth and the acquisition of AMI Semiconductor by ON, which brought a need “to consider new PR resources that could enable the company to not only conduct product PR for a wider, more disparate market, but also handle corporate communications for a more complex and powerful company,” the company says.

ON Semiconductor chose McBru for several reasons, including integration of advertising and PR to bring cost-efficiency, streamlined management of agency resources and enhanced overall performance; the firm’s years of experience working with semiconductor companies to communicate with engineers around the world; and McBru’s expertise in communicating with both the horizontal electronics industry influencers and those in vertical industries ON Semiconductor targets.

"McBru's value proposition as a full-service firm dedicated to deep tech companies like ours is difficult to miss," said Dave Bergevin, director of worldwide brand management of ON Semiconductor. "We're eager to see what McBru can do for our PR, given the terrific work they have done with our global advertising program."
