NEW YORK —Longtime healthcare communications pro Nancy Turett has joined APCO Worldwide as a New York-based executive director. Turett brings more than three decades of health care communications experience to APCO, having founded and led Edelman’s global health practice, health barometer and several other global initiatives for the firm. She has also served as principal at WholeView, advising corporate and global NGO clients on personal, enterprise and public health.

SAN FRANCISCO — Carolyn Guss, a Method Communications partner, has been promoted to general manager of the agency’s San Francisco office. In the newly created position, Guss (pictured) will be responsible for driving the agency’s continued growth and leadership in the Bay Area, underpinned by its integrated communications approach. Since joining Method in 2014 after it acquired her technology-focused boutique public relations agency, Kindling Communications, Guss has helped lead the agency’s West Coast expansion by bolstering business development, elevating client strategy, and attracting and developing talent.

RALEIGH, NC — French/West/Vaughan has hired new leaders and promoted others in its Raleigh headquarters and at Tampa-based FWV Fetching. New staffers include: VP Rachel Wing, who was previously with the agency from 2014 through early 2016; John Moore who joins as creative director, a title he held recently with former Raleigh ad agency Howard/Merrell; AND Social media art director Jerstin Crosby, who comes from digital marketing firm Heart + Hammer. FWV promotions include Melissa Timney to senior VP and Katie Johnson to VP.

WASHINGTON, DC — Connecticut's Scrum50 has tapped industry vet Craig Wishner to open a new Washington office as its VP of strategic accounts. Wishner will be responsible for the growth of the agency through new business development and client relationship management. He joins Scrum50 after holding various business growth position roles at Accenture Interactive (Wire Stone), Tenthwave Digital and 360i.
