TORONTO--Former Waggener-Edstrom EMEA director Bryan Taylor has joined Canadian digital agency Arcane.

Taylor becomes Arcane's 13th employee, one year after the firm launched in London, Ontario.

He is charged with boosting the agency's "brand storytelling" capability, and expanding its tech sector clients and social media services. Taylor joins Arcane's three-strong management team, with an additional remit to grow the firm's business in Toronto.

A Canadian native, Taylor departed Wag-Ed earlier this year, after serving as EMEA client development director for three years in London. Prior to that, Taylor spent seven years at Brands2Life, rising to the position of marketing director.

"We're hunting for companies that want to fundamentally change their marketing and Bryan's European experience adds another uncommon element to our team," said Arcane CEO Eric Vardon, to whom Taylor reports. "His skills complement our current approach -- a lead generation and brand building model that doesn't rely on old rules and habits that are slowing down established agencies."

"We're planning to make a lot of agencies in Toronto uncomfortable, we're hungry for new business and ready to grow," added Taylor. "I'm looking for talented account managers and graduates in Toronto that want to be a part of a fast-paced, no-holds barred agency."
