LONDON—GSK has hired H+K Strategies to handle public relations for its Human Performance Lab, the Holmes Report understands.

The lab, a research facility that focuses on elite performance, aims to better understand how the body and brain function.

It is understood that H+K secured the brief following a competitive review. Neither GSK nor the agency responded to the request for comment, but it is thought that the assignment involves consumer and pharma PR duties.

The Lab's research looks to develop improved training, recovery, nutrition and competition programmes. Ultimately, GSK hopes to apply the science to  the wellbeing of the general population, by developing new products. Initial studies focus on protein, cognition and bone health.

The Lab received plenty of coverage last month, during a visit by the Duchess of Cambridge.
