PALO ALTO, CA — In the two years since consolidating its global PR work with Edelman, HP has added Burson Cohn & Wolfe to its agency mix, tapping the firm on a per project basis, the Holmes Report has learned.

BCW’s relationship with HP started earlier this year, and has revolved primarily around projects related to corporate communications, according to sources.

Edelman, which handles HP’s global corporate and product PR duties, remains HP’s primary global communications partner, the company said.

Edelman won HP’s business, worth roughly $14m, in a 2016 competitive review. The move ended the company’s relationships with incumbent agencies Porter Novelli, its partner of 28 years, and FleishmanHillard.

Since then, HP has kept its agencies in the spotlight, rolling out a public initiative aimed at boosting the diversity of the firms it works with. Edelman was the only PR firm among the five agencies included in the most recent diversity scorecard report.
