NEW YORK—Edelman has appointed Peter McKillop, formerly of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., as executive vice president, financial communications. His role will span Edelman’s corporate and public affairs and consumer divisions in New York as well as the firm’s international network. He will report to Justin Blake, managing director corporate and public affairs, Edelman New York.

At KKR, McKillop was responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s media relations, branding, internal communications and digital communications. He managed communications for the listing of KKR on the New York Stock Exchange in 2010, as well as corporate and financial-related transaction communications in the US and in Asia. He also oversaw the firm's recent rebranding and repositioning and was part of the global public affairs team that focused on multiple stakeholder and corporate responsibility issues.

Prior to KKR, McKillop was a senior vice president overseeing all external and internal communications at Bank of America's consumer and small business bank. Previously, he worked in Japan and Hong Kong for J.P. Morgan, as managing director for marketing and communications for Asia-Pacific, and Newsweek Magazine, and was a managing director in the Japan office of Burson-Marsteller.
