BRUSSELS — Rud Pedersen Public Affairs partner Martin Bresson is moving into an in-house role as director of public affairs for Invest Europe, the association of European private equity, venture capital and infrastructure investment firms.
Bresson had been at Rud Pedersen since 2017, overseeing the firm’s advice to clients on financial services and complex corporate issues. He became group head of financial services this May.
In his new role, Bresson will lead Invest Europe’s advocacy work with European policymakers and regulators on behalf of the associations 650 members, who also include investors such as pension funds and insurers.
Invest Europe’s new CEO Eric de Montgolfier, who joined the association in October from Brussels-listed investment manager Gimv, said: “Martin is a highly experienced public affairs professional with in-depth knowledge of European financial services as well as corporate topics, such as competition, tax and trade.
"His track record at an industry, national and European Union level, combined with his strong network of contacts and reputation in Brussels, make him a valuable addition to the team.”
It is not Bresson’s first industry association role: he started his career at organisations including the Danish Brewers Association. He also spent a decade working at the Danish Ministry for Business and Economic Affairs, responsible for EU policies, and from 2012 to 2017 was a senior advisor at FleishmanHillard in Brussels.
