LOS GATOS, CA—Netflix has hired former WSJ reporter Anne Marie Squeo as director of corporate communications, succeeding Joris Evers who has taken on European duties.

Evers has been named VP and head of European communications after serving as global corporate communications director for the past three years.

Netflix recently announced ambitious European expansion plans and hired MSLGroup to support its rollout.

Squeo, reports Broadcasting & Cable, will split her time across Netflix's offices in Washington DC and Los Gatos, focusing on the company's network neutrality issues.

Squeo was previously MD of 30 Point Communications, prior to which she worked as a reporter at Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal.

Evers joined Netflix in 2011 from McAfee, where she spent more than four years in senior communications roles.

Netflix's communications function is led by chief communications officer Jonathan Friedland.
